Weekly Update — October 18, 2016
Cataloging Restrictions for Authority Control Implementation
During the Authority Control implementation project, catalogers will have some limitations on their work. In order to allow everyone as much time as possible to prepare, we have chosen to implement Authority Control in December 2016. Beginning the first full week in December, catalogers should not update or merge existing MARC records. New records may be imported as needed; holdings may be added and edited. If you are planning a weed, please try to complete it prior to December 2 so that we aren’t shipping and bringing in unneeded records post processing.
The vendor has estimated that the process will take up to the end of the year; we are committed to making it happen as quickly as possible while ensuring accuracy. Please watch the newsletter and listservs for updates on the timeline.

Maintenance Notices
The next Evergreen software upgrade has been scheduled for December 31, 2016-January 1, 2017. All library access to the database will be suspended during that window.
