We have scheduled the next consortium upgrade for December 25-28, 2014. We will be upgrading to version 2.6, which offers improvements to OPAC icons, fixed field and 007 tag editors, metarecord holds, and improved accessibility to the catalog for low vision users. Please mark your calendars and watch for upgrade news!
Cataloging Roundtable: RDA for Copy Catalogers in Evergreen
The Spring/Summer Cataloging Roundtable has been schedule for July 17, 2014, 10am-Noon (EDT). Our special guest, Stephen Smith, Head of Acquisitions and Copy Cataloging at University of Illinois Chicago, will be reviewing methods, practices and workflows for copy catalogers wishing to update records to the new RDA standards. The first hour will be open discussions hosted by the Cataloging Committee with the formal training beginning at 11am. This program is offered for free, and registration is open now.
Meetings
The Patron Services Committee will meet on June 17, 2014 at 10am at the Greenwood Public Library.
The June 10 Executive Committee meeting was streamed and recorded for members unable to attend the meeting in person. We had some technical difficulties to start, so you may have had trouble accessing the session live. The recording is available on Google+ and YouTube. Sheryl Sollars assumes the role of Chair, Ruth Frasur, Chair-Elect, and Shawn Heaton, Secretary for the 2014-15 year.
The eContent Committee met on June 10, 2014 and approved the February 11, 2014 Minutes. Quotes for 3 vendors offering consortium discounting will be sent out on the eContent listserv. Please contact the Coordinator with questions.
We encourage all member libraries to attend committee meetings to provide recommendations and to learn about current issues.
