Get your barcodes and library cards now!
We’re pleased to announce that the new library card and barcode contract is finalized. The first pool of the new contract opened on Monday, May 12, 2014, and closes on Friday, May 16. The new rates are $21.50 per 1000 for barcodes and $.20/ea. for combo cards with a minimum run of 500. Please check your stocks and send in your orders now. eIndiana Digital Consortium News
The eIndiana Digital Consortium has joined in both the Big Library Read and the Overdrive Challenge in June. Please see the information below about these two programs!
Big Library Read
This summer’s Big Library Read title is A Pedigree to Die For by Laurien Berenson. The eBook will be featured in a prominent spot on the consortium’s home page (http://cidc.lib.overdrive.com) for no cost and will be available from June 3 – 18 for simultaneous use (no holds, no waitlists) for your users to borrow.
Big Library Read is the worldwide digital version of a local book club, and a way for your library to generate interest in your digital collection beyond the bestsellers. Big Library Read is also an excellent opportunity to engage new and existing users to increase digital circulation. Marketing materials are available here for you to spread the word to your community.
OverDrive Challenge
The OverDrive Challenge is a promotion to help raise awareness of library eBook lending across the world and boost your circulation. Your mission during the month of June is to increase your checkouts to beat your best month on record for circulation.
***The eIndiana Digital Consortium’s highest circulating month was January 2014 (32,649 checkouts). Our goal is 40,811 checkouts for June, which will qualify us for a $1500 content credit!!
Elections and Ballots
We continue to collect the Bylaws Amendment ballots. Please send these to the Coordinator or Executive Committee at the Indiana State Library (140 N Senate Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46204) as soon as possible! The new EC members will be announced next week.

Migration News
We have set Danville Center Township Public Library’s go-live for June 3, 2014. A modified cataloging freeze will be in place beginning at 5pm EDT on Friday, May 30 and is will be lifted with notice on June 3, 2014. Please watch the cataloging list for the release notice to be issued. A modified cataloging freeze means that no actions may be taken on bibliographic records. Holdings may be added or edited. No materials or records should be deleted during the freeze.
