Weekly Update – June 11, 2013

New Evergreen Indiana Sysadmin

Please welcome Jason Boyer, the new Evergreen Indiana Sysadmin!

My name is Jason Boyer. I’ve worked at the Jackson County Public Library for 13 years managing their public and staff IT needs, ILS support, and writing software when I could find an excuse. I’m excited to be joining the Indiana State Library and hope that I can help make Evergreen easier to use and a more attractive choice for Indiana libraries.

Jason may be reached at the ISL via the Helpdesk, email (jboyer1@library.in.gov ) or phone (317- 234-2128).

Updates to By-Laws

Electronic Participation
As previously announced in the March 27, 2013 blog entry, electronic participation is now accepted for committee members. This is good news for those of you who have wanted to be involved, but due to geographic constraints have been unable to participate so far! Section N of the By-Laws outlines how members may participate remotely. Remote participants must request authorization in advance, participate in roll-call voting, and confirm remote roll-call votes in writing. All members must be physically present at at least one meeting per year and a minimum of either 2 members or 1/3 of the members (whichever is greater) must physically attend the meeting at the declared meeting site where the public may attend.

Name Changes for Committees
The transition in name for the Patron Services and eContent Committees has been approved. For an overview of why and the new focuses of these committees, please see the March 27, 2013 blog entry. Subcommittee By-Laws are found in Section V of the Evergreen Indiana By-Laws.
